Drummer plays for 72 hours straight

Indonesian Kunto Hartono 26, raises his hands after setting a new world record for playing drums in Jakarta, Jan. 1. Hartono played drums for 72 hours and was declared to have broken a world record. He was officially named the holder of the national record for the longest drum-beating. --

An Indonesian musician who played the drums for 72 hours has broken a world record.
Tourism Minister I Gde Ardika said he had also broken a world record of 58 hours previously held by Briton Allister Brown.

The longest drum solo was held by Michael Macpherson, a South Africian Christian-rock drummer. It lasted for 50 hours and 30 minutes and took place on November 28-30, 2002, at the Shelley Centre in Shelley Beach, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.

In August 1985, DOMINIQUE PIZZINAT established the first WORLD RECORD for the longest drum solo ~ registered in the Guinness Book of Records 1986. He played for 24hours 40 mins with 10mins break every 5 hours. The event was held in the middle of the bay of La Baule, coast of Britany, on the catamaran 'JAZ' of Bruno Peyron.
